“Landline” (featuring Ingrid Michaelson) by Greg Laswell
I have been a fan of both singer/songwriters individually for quite a while now, so imagine my surprise when I found out that they got married recently! And recorded a song together. Two talented artists, they are definitely a match made in indie music (?) heaven. Too bad I can’t really share my excitement with any of my friends, because no one has heard of either of them.
But hey, that’s what tumblr is for, right?
I think the tree may fall in the front yard
if this storm has it’s way
I hear you dancing on the floorboards above
unaware of what’s at stake
All I ever needed was a landline
just in case the power lines go down
All I needed would never be enough for me
Enjoy this amazing song, it’s on Greg Laswell’s latest album with the same name. He also collaborated with Sia and Sara Bareilles on that album.

London based indie rock band Post War Years teamed up with Philadelphia area director Tobias Stretch, to create the video for their new single “All Eyes”.
“Overload” by Kendall Morgan.
The song was recently aired on an episode of the CBS Primetime show “The Good Wife”, titled “What Went Wrong”. The subtle combination between bubbly-ness of the tunes and the sweet soulfulness of Morgan’s the vocals makes it the perfect summer track. You have us to blame if the song gets stuck in your head for the rest of the day!
enjoy!

“The Cowboys’ Christmas Bar” by The Killers
Happy December, folks! The month of Christmas is here, which means that we will be hearing a lot of Christmas-themed songs for the rest of the month, if you haven’t been hearing them prematurely already (I’m looking at you, She & Him)
The Killers have released an EP dedicated to the holiday season, entitled (RED) Christmas, and here we have a music video of one of the songs, “The Cowboys’ Christmas Bar” It’s got Cowboys, bandits, robots from outer space, and a very enthusiastic Brandon Flowers. What’s more Christmasy than that?
enjoy

“Cannons” by Youth Lagoon
With extremely snowy synths and oddly distant lead vocals this song manages to captivate and take you on a dreamy journey of catchy beats and rhythms that will have you crying for more! Something very interesting to note about this fabulous piece of music is that Youth Lagoon is a one man show, and that show is Trevor Powers. This year he released his first album entitled The Year of Hibernation, much like cannons the rest of the album is an amazing compilation of indie tracks that manage to draw the line between sadness and happiness, the lyrics throughout are all very personal and act as a journal for Powers to express and share parts of himself with the world.
“Cannons” and The Year of Hibernation are well worth the listen! :)
